Part-Time Child Care Provider

Purpose Statement:

The role of the Child Care Provider is to be responsible for the care and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.

Scope:

The Child Care Provider is directly responsible for working with other Providers to ensure continuity of care is maintained throughout the day at the center. The Provider is responsible for the care and supervision of all children in assigned classroom in the program.

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Co-labor with other Care Providers for the purpose of creating a nurturing spiritual and academic environment
  • Provide encouraging and stimulating social interaction by engaging with children, individually and in groups
  • Maintain daily record of numbers and point values of children in classrooms.
  • Supervise and support children’s physical needs with assistance as needed
  • Teach provided lesson plans for academic, and social/emotional development of each child in assigned classroom
  • Provide daily Bible lessons and prayer focused on the spiritual development of each child
  • Receive and provide assistance with snacks and lunches
  • Provide assistance and supervision for napping
  • Provide assistance with daily diapering or bathroom needs
  • Prepare daily reports for parents of each child in assigned classroom, as instructed by Director
  • Assist with behavior management of children in classroom
  • Provide oral reports as per parent request
  • Prepare proper documentation of significant incidents or accidents
  • Provide for the safety and security of each child in assigned classroom
  • Escort and monitor children traveling to and from playground
  • Maintain daily cleanliness of classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and kitchen following designated procedures
  • Complete required 12 hours of childcare training annually for Idaho STARS compliance
  • Set up/break down classroom furnishings in order to prepare for church usage

Qualifications/Skills/Gifts:

  • A strong commitment to the philosophies and mission of Calvary Chapel as well as the educational philosophies of Calvary Kids Learning Center
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with regard to children, parents, and colleagues
  • Love for children and a desire to see that they have a right relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Spiritual gifts of teaching, discernment, service, helps and exhortation
  • Educational background and/or experience in early childhood
  • Ability to transition between multiple children’s age groups
  • Documentation of pediatric CPR/first aid certification provided within 30 days of initial employment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Physically able to run after toddlers, carry squirming toddlers, or crawl/play on floor with infants/toddlers
  • Must be able to clean tables and floors and be able to tolerate disinfectants
